Employee mistreatment

 

In an Industrial Relations hearing, an employee was claiming workplace harassment.  As part of the evidence put forward in support of the claim was the employee's diary which included numerous entries purporting to be a record of the occurrence of the harassment. 

FDS was asked to consider whether or not the entries were written on or about the dates indicated on the diary pages, or at a significantly later time.

The detailed examinations our forensic document examiners undertook allowed us to determine the sequence of writing the questioned diary entries and surrounding undisputed entries.  The finding was that the questioned entries were written in sequential order with the other diary entries and ultimately in support of the employees claims.
